A social networks integrated sensor platform for precision agriculture

This paper proposes a social network Sina Weibo integrated sensor platform for precision agriculture to effectively provide various agricultural agricultural services. As a case study, a greenhouse environment monitoring system employing our proposal method has been developed. Experiment results show that this system can reduce the burden of the implementation and management of wireless sensor network(WSN), and the proposed approach is feasible, cost-effective and flexible for exploiting a socialnetworks-based wireless monitoring system quickly.

To the best of our knowledge, our proposed system is the first work to integrate Bluetooth v4.0 wireless technology, smartphone-based field server (gateway), and a social networks Sina Weibo application to improve the agricultural services of precision agriculture.
